World Bank and CCG launching the latest World Economic Prospects
On June 16, 2021, the Center for China and Globalization (CCG) and the World Bank co-hosted a webinar to discuss the World Bank’s June 2021 “Global Economic Prospects”, which presents forecasts and analysis for the global and Chinese economy in the second half of 2021. It was the only event in which the World Bank released and analyzed the report outside its headquarters in Washington DC, attracting nearly 700,000 viewers around the world.

CCG Roundtable Commenmorating China’s Accession to the WTO
2021 marks the 20th anniversary of China’s accession to the WTO. On May 14, the Centre for China and Globalization (CCG) hosted a roundtable on the theme of “China and the WTO after 20 years: Embarking on the next chapter.” During the event, distinguished speakers reviewed the 20 years since China joined the WTO, discussed prospects for WTO reform and the potential role of China, and the future of the WTO and regional integration, hoping to advocate a multilateral trading system and the development of economic globalization.

On May 13, the Center for China and Globalization (CCG) was honored to host a fireside chat session featuring Sir Angus Deaton, recipient of the 2015 Nobel Prize for Economics and Professor of Economics and International Affairs Emeritus at Princeton University, and Anne Case, Professor of Economics and Public Affairs Emeritus at Princeton University. On May 12, the Center for China and Globalization (CCG) hosted a dialogue between Martin Wolf, chief economics commentator and associate editor at the Financial Times and Wang Huiyao, CCG president. Mr. Wolf is a world-renowned journalist covering economics and finance, a strong advocate of globalization and free markets, and the author of a number of influential books including Why Globalization Works and Fixing Global Finance.

CCG Dialogue with Harvard Professor Anthony Saich
On April 30, the Center for China and Globalization (CCG) co-hosted the China-US Relations Forum with Harvard University’s China Social and Economic Symposium, joined by Harvard Professor Anthony Saich and CCG President Dr. Wang Huiyao. During this virtual dialogue, the two scholars discussed competition and cooperation between China and the United States in fields such as geopolitics, technology, economics, culture, the pandemic and climate, taking the pulse of China-US relations under the new Biden administration.
