Roundtables
CCG pays close attention to international relations, promotes China and globalization, actively engages in international exchange, and gives full play to its role as a "Track II diplomacy" think tank. Our think tank organizes sub-forums, bilateral and multilateral events, roundtables, banquets and other activities at major international policy and opinion exchange platforms such as the Paris Peace Forum, the World Economic Forum and the Munich Security Conference to promote dialogue and build consensus among international political, business and academic circles. CCG actively engages in "Track II Diplomacy" with the policy, think tank and business communities of various countries, conducts annual research and exchanges in multiple countries, promotes interaction between Chinese and foreign parties, and maintains communication channels with the policymaking parties of various countries.

CCG releases Chinese edition of World Immigration Report 2020
On August 25, 2020, the Center for China and Globalization (CCG) and the International Organization of Migration (IOM) jointly held an online publication ceremony for the World Migration Report 2020 and a seminar on related migration issues. The event brought together a group of leading experts in relevant fields to share their thoughts and insights on related issues. CCG translated the World Immigration Report 2020 into Chinese. This is the fourth time CCG and IOM have worked together on the Chinese edition of one of the most influential reports in the field of international migration.

RSIS-MINDEF-CCG Webinar on “COVID-19 & its Impact on East Asia”
This year marks the 30th anniversary for Singapore-China relations. Although COVID-19 has disrupted physical exchanges and projects, Singapore’s ties with China have emerged stronger this year. Instead of visits, engagements have taken the form of virtual meetings. In the spirit of strengthening engagement and support, RSIS co-hosted a Track 1.5 virtual workshop with the Singapore Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) and the Center for China and Globalization (CCG) on “COVID-19 and its Impact on East Asia” on 21 August 2020.

CCG hosts webinar on China-Africa cooperation amid the pandemic
On August 11, 2020, the Center for China and Globalization (CCG), the Embassy of Ghana, and Development Reimagined co-hosted a webinar titled “Sino-Africa Dialogue on Challenges and Cooperation Opportunities amidst the Pandemic.” Ambassadors to China from various African states, representatives of the African Union to China, and officials from the African Chamber of Commerce and other related organizations participated in the webinar to discuss various topics, including the economic and commercial impact of the pandemic on African countries, how China and Africa can work together to enhance cooperation, how the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) can create new opportunities for Sino-African trade, and how African countries can tap opportunities linked to the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) in the post-pandemic era.

CCG participates in Global Think Tank Town Hall meetings
On April 7, May 18, and June 30, the Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program (TTCSP) at the University of Pennsylvania hosted a series of Global Think Tank Town Hall meetings. Aiming to promote evidence-based, policy-relevant, action-oriented policies to save lives and livelihoods in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis, the meetings featured 1,226 think tank executives, academics, and policymakers from more than 540 institutions in 87 countries.

Webinar Launch of China’s Millennium Transformation: The Belt and Road Initiative
This is a book on the Belt and Road Initiative, written from an unusual perspective — it is written by someone who was born in India but raised in Singapore; who has never spent a day of schooling in the greater China (Mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau) but has Chinese heritage; who eventually built a long and distinguished career in the West. With such an atypical background, he took an off-the-beaten-path approach by asking the fundamental question of how such an important initiative, began entirely by China, can deeply impact and transform the millennium mindset of Chinese.
