Roundtable held to discuss the reform of WTO
On August 23, CCG held a roundtable Dialogue on WTO Modernization in Beijing with leading Swiss think tank Center for International Trade and Sustainable Development (ICTSD) to discuss emerging and existing issues relative to WTO and with major focus on Trade war between the world two biggest economies, America and China as well as developing countries. The dialogue put forth an insightful exchange of thoughts between experts from CCG/UIBE, ICTSD, and other invited experts from China, embassies and global companies. It was a great opportunity on exchange of ideas and possible ways forward to improving a world trade system that is balanced for both developed and developing countries and amicable remedies to resolve the trade dispute between the two largest economies in the world.

CCG promotes innovative new global governance projects at Paris Peace Forum
Initiated by French leader Emmanuel Macron to promote new solutions to global governance, the Paris Peace Forum took place from November 11 to 13. It is planned that the event, which began on the centenary of the end of World War I, becomes an annual platform to discuss peace and international cooperation.

CCG–CSIS Roundtable: The future of Sino-US trade negotiations after G20
On December 10, 2018, the Center for China and Globalization (CCG) and the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) jointly held a roundtable at CCG headquarters in Beijing to discuss Sino-US relations, the consensus reached at the G20 Summit and the future trend of Sino-US trade negotiations. Scott Kennedy, deputy director of the Freeman Chair in China Studies Institute at CSIS, delivered a speech which was followed by discussion and exchanges between CCG nonresident senior fellow and former dean of the Institute of International Trade and Economic Cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce, Huo Jianguo; deputy secretary general of the "One Belt One Road” Center of the Academy of Sciences, Xu Wenhong; CCG executive director and chairman of FUETA, Tang Haoxuan; Columbia University's Global Energy Policy Center researcher, Kevin Tu; University College of Dublin Research Institute of Europe research fellow, Han Yao; and other CCG fellows and associates in attendance.

CCG luncheon at Davos World Economic Forum discuss new impetus for globalization 4.0
The 2019 World Economic Forum Annual Meeting took stage in Davos between Jan. 22 and 25, focus on Shaping a New Architecture for the Next Wave of Globalization. Among all the global leaders who attended the meeting, Chinese Vice President Wang Qishan delivered a speech on Jan. 23 to review China’s path of development and globalization in the past 70 years, identifying the opportunities and challenges brought by the new technologies. In the meantime, CCG and ifeng.com co-hosted a luncheon meeting, inviting a dozen of scholars, experts, and business leaders to discuss the new direction and power for globalization and the new role that China should take on in the process.
