A Webinar on the Future of China-EU Economic Relations
On July 25, 2022, CCG and Mercedes-Benz jointly hosted a webinar focusing on China-EU business and trade relations within the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. Representatives from Mercedes-Benz and CCG took part in the closed-door meeting for in-depth discussion and exchange on important issues such as the impacts from the Russian-Ukraine war and COVID on bilateral trade relations, China’s carbon neutrality policy and the global geopolitical trends as well as how to strengthen international economic and trade cooperation.

CCG’s first overseas visit since the pandemic
The world is struggling to recover from profound shocks that have brought into question the integrity of the international order, the current geopolitical landscape and the global economic system. The huge short-term costs resulting from the fight against Covid-19, as well as increased distrust among key global actors in the wake of the Ukraine Crisis, has given communication and diplomacy a greater immediacy and importance than ever before. Pushing forward its ‘Track II Diplomacy’ vision, a CCG Expert Delegation initiated a global tour that crisscrossed Asia, North America and Europe from June 22 to July 21, 2022.

First Chinese Think Tank to Visit Europe since Pandemic
Following its successful US trip, CCG’s Delegation of Experts, comprised of CCG president Dr. Henry Huiyao Wang, CCG secretary general Dr. Mabel Lu Miao, and CCG fellow Wang Wei, went to Europe after they completed its Track II visit to USA They went to Europe facing an uncertain and delicate political environment. They conducted informative and constructive meetings and dialogues with their counterparts and relevant organizations in EU countries.

Founder of GYLD Visited the UNESCO
On July 18th and 19th, local time, Dr. Mabel Miao, Founder of Global Young Leaders Dialogue (GYLD), and Co-Founder and Secretary-General of Center for China and Globalization (CCG) paid a visit to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Paris. Dr. Mabel Miao visited Dr. Qu Xing, Deputy Director-General of UNESCO. And she also visited Ms. Gabriela Ramos, Assistant Director-General for the Social and Human Sciences of UNESCO, expert of Inclusive Policy Lab, former Director and Sherpa to the G20 of the OECD Office. Two sides had in-depth exchanges on GYLD’s work in the fields including education, technological innovation, young talents development and cultural exchanges and mutual learning, etc.

First Chinese Think Tank Visits Washington DC since Pandemic
Following a successful trip to New York city where CCG experts exchanged views with leading voices on the global and regional affairs from Asia Society, Council o Foreign Relations, the United Nations headquarters, as well as prominent members of the New York circles, the group made up by CCG president Dr. Henry Huiyao Wang, CCG secretary general Dr. Mabel Lu Miao, and CCG vice persident and senior fellow Mr. Mike H. Liu headed to Washington DC to continue its first overseas think tank track-II engagement mission in nearly three years. Their five days’ visit to Washington from July 4 to July 8 was filled with productive meetings.
