Diplomats from the U.S. Embassy visit CCG
On August 22, 2022, the Unit Chief of Global Economic Affairs Group of the Economic Section of the U.S. Embassy at Beijing Phillip Guthrie, Acting External Unit Chief of the Political Section Adam Fields, Senior Advisor to the Civilian Attaché Drew T. Holliday and Economic Specialist of the Global Economic Affairs Group of the Economic Section Jessica Liao visited CCG in Beijing. CCG President Henry Huiyao Wang, CCG Secretary-General Mabel Miao, CCG Vice President Victor Gao, CCG Deputy Secretary-General Tang Beijie, and CCG Senior Research Fellow Andy Mok met with them and the two sides held a private roundtable on China-U.S. Relations and Taiwan-related issues.

CCG holds a series of meetings with foreign embassies to China
Over the years, CCG has established an efficient system of communication and dialogue to interact with embassies, international organizations, global think tanks, and other institutions. CCG is committed to promoting exchange, cooperation, understanding, and mutual trust between China and the world, and has become a significant international platform for discussions on policy and other issues. Recently, CCG conducted held an event with ambassadors and senior officials from foreign embassies to China including South Africa, Germany, Belgium, France, Portugal, India, Spain and Israel.

Consensus or Conflict? – China and Globalization in the 21st century, co-edited by Henry Huiyao Wang, Founder and President of Center for China and Globalization, and Alistair Michie, Secretary General of the British East Asia Council, was recently awarded the “China New Development Award” at a ceremony held on August 1st at Springer Nature Group’s Beijing office.

A Webinar on the Future of China-EU Economic Relations
On July 25, 2022, CCG and Mercedes-Benz jointly hosted a webinar focusing on China-EU business and trade relations within the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. Representatives from Mercedes-Benz and CCG took part in the closed-door meeting for in-depth discussion and exchange on important issues such as the impacts from the Russian-Ukraine war and COVID on bilateral trade relations, China’s carbon neutrality policy and the global geopolitical trends as well as how to strengthen international economic and trade cooperation.

CCG’s first overseas visit since the pandemic
The world is struggling to recover from profound shocks that have brought into question the integrity of the international order, the current geopolitical landscape and the global economic system. The huge short-term costs resulting from the fight against Covid-19, as well as increased distrust among key global actors in the wake of the Ukraine Crisis, has given communication and diplomacy a greater immediacy and importance than ever before. Pushing forward its ‘Track II Diplomacy’ vision, a CCG Expert Delegation initiated a global tour that crisscrossed Asia, North America and Europe from June 22 to July 21, 2022.
