Chee Hong Tat: Future is bright for free trade in Asia-Pacific
On June 18, the Center for China and Globalization (CCG) was honored to host Mr. Chee Hong Tat, Singaporean Senior Minister of State for Trade, Industry and Education for a roundtable discussion. This event took focus on potential future cooperation between China and Singapore on trade issues, as well as on how to resolve the U.S.-China trade war. In addition, regional cooperation and common opportunities and challenges in Asia, such as the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RECP), the multilateral trading system and WTO reform, and other important issues were also discussed.

Global strategist and renowned author Parag Khanna speaks at CCG
On June 11th, the Center for China and Globalization (CCG) was honored to host Dr. Parag Khanna, leading global strategist and best-selling author, to deliver a speech on his most recent book The Future is Asian: Commerce, Conflict, and Culture in the 21st Century. Dr. Khanna introduced key themes and the background behind his new book to attendees, which was recently published in Chinese by CITIC Publishing. Following his speech, a discussion and Q&A session was held with attendees and media representatives.

AIIB committed to the development of infrastructure in Asia
On June 11th, the Center for China and Globalization (CCG) was pleased to welcome Sir Danny Alexander, Vice President and Corporate Secretary at the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), to deliver a speech on the development and future prospects of the organization. As a part of CCG’s Distinguished Speakers’ Series, this event gathered together an audience of experts, academics, business leaders and CCG researchers, as well as media representatives, to explore and discuss how AIIB has progressed since its founding, and what the future holds for the development bank.
