As a pioneer “new type of think tank with Chinese characteristics,” CCG is dedicated to researching think tank theories and continuously innovating management practices, promoting the innovative development of Chinese think tanks, and promoting academic exchanges and management experience sharing between Chinese think tanks and academic experts and international top think tanks through multiple channels. Over the past ten years, CCG has been actively learning from cutting-edge ideas and management practices of international top think tanks, and has been exploring new ways to meet the needs of Chinese think tanks by sending visiting scholars, "going global" international exchange, organizing the annual China Global Think Tank Innovation Forum, and seminars for international top think tanks, publishing research works, and cooperating with international think tanks. CCG has developed into one of the leading non-governmental think tanks in China.

Dialogue with Jeremy Rifkin: China’s Role in Building a Global Zero-Carbon Society
On July 7, 2020, the Center for China and Globalization (CCG) and the Foundation on Economic Trends (FOET) co-hosted an online discussion with Jeremy Rifkin, well-known economist and The New York Times best-selling author of the book, The Green New Deal: Why the Fossil Fuel Civilisation Will Collapse by 2028, and the Bold Economic Plan to Save Life on Earth. Jeremy Rifkin spoke on a variety of topics, including the relationship between climate change and epidemics, technological revolution, energy transformations, the economics of sustainable development and a zero-carbon society, new infrastructure, Sino-EU cooperation in ecological civilization, and of course the global green new deal.

CCG participates in Global Think Tank Town Hall meetings
On April 7, May 18, and June 30, the Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program (TTCSP) at the University of Pennsylvania hosted a series of Global Think Tank Town Hall meetings. Aiming to promote evidence-based, policy-relevant, action-oriented policies to save lives and livelihoods in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis, the meetings featured 1,226 think tank executives, academics, and policymakers from more than 540 institutions in 87 countries.

Re-Launching Urban Talent Attraction and Retention
On September 18th, 2020, the Center for China and Globalization (CCG), the Alliance of Global Talent Organizations (AGTO) and the Global Mobility of Talent Research Team of Carleton University held their second joint virtual expert discussion on global talent mobility. This time the discussion focused on some of the leading talent magnets in Eurasia and the question of how to relaunch and enhance their urban talent attraction and retention post- COVID 19.
