CCG hosts closed joint roundtable with New Zealand China Council
On May 10, 2023, CCG hosted a closed roundtable conference jointly with the New Zealand China Council with the theme ‘Towards a More Resilient New Zealand-China Relationship’. Representatives from both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as trade cooperation between China and New Zealand, the development of China-New Zealand diplomatic relations and cultural exchange. Mike Liu, Vice President and Senior Fellow from the Center for China and Globalization (CCG), and Alistair Crozier, Executive Director at the New Zealand China Council gave welcome speeches, while H.E. Grahame Morton, Ambassador of New Zealand to China, and Ambassador ZHAN Yongxin, Chairman of China National Committee for Pacific Economic Cooperation, each delivered keynote speeches.

CCG Releases Report on Talent Development in Asia (2023)
On May 11, 2023, the Center for China and Globalization (CCG) released its “Report on Talent Development in Asia under Technology Transformation (2023)” at the Global Talent Summit held in Macao, which organized by the Alliance of Global Talent Organizations (AGTO), the CCGM China-ASEAN GBA Cooperation Center (CAGCC), and co-organized by Hong Kong Institution for International Finance (HKIIF) with support from CCG and the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM).

CCG opens Hong Kong Committee Office in World-Wide House in Central
On May 10, 2023, the Center for China and Globalization (CCG) oplaunched the new CCG Hong Kong Committee Office at World-Wide House in Hong Kong’s Central District. A symposium titled “The Greater Bay Area and China’s Modernization” was also held in conjunction with the opening, which was attended by many distinguished guests that shared their insights and views on current global trends.

CCG hosts a Two Track dialogue on ‘reforming globalization’
On April 29th, during a visit by a delegation from the Global Foundation to Australia to CCG, a joint closed-door roundtable was held focusing on the themes of ‘reforming globalization’ and the need for ’dialogue between civilizations’. The four sessions held during the roundtable welcomed over 30 participants from China and Australia with representatives from think tanks, leaders in business, and diplomatic envoys to China, who engaged in in-depth discussions on the most pressing global issues today.

New Book | Understanding the Global Power Shifts in the 21st Century: An Introduction to Soft Power and Great-Power Competition
On April 28, 2023, a new book by the father of “soft power” Joseph S. Nye Jr., former dean of the Harvard Kennedy School, titled Soft Power and Great-Power Competition: Shifting Sands in the Balance of Power Between the United States and China, was released at the headquarters of the Center for China and Globalization (CCG) in Beijing.

Text: Wang Huiyao in dialogue with Joseph Nye
On April 28th, Professor Joseph Nye’s new book, Soft Power and Great-Power Competition: Shifting Sands in the Balance of Power between the United States and China, published in English by Springer Nature and in Chinese by CITIC Press, was released at CCG. The book is another heavyweight work in the “China and Globalization” book series edited by Dr. Huiyao Wang and Dr. Lu Miao. During the event, Professor Joseph Nye and CCG President Dr. Huiyao Wang had a dialogue.
