Roundtables
CCG pays close attention to international relations, promotes China and globalization, actively engages in international exchange, and gives full play to its role as a "Track II diplomacy" think tank. Our think tank organizes sub-forums, bilateral and multilateral events, roundtables, banquets and other activities at major international policy and opinion exchange platforms such as the Paris Peace Forum, the World Economic Forum and the Munich Security Conference to promote dialogue and build consensus among international political, business and academic circles. CCG actively engages in "Track II Diplomacy" with the policy, think tank and business communities of various countries, conducts annual research and exchanges in multiple countries, promotes interaction between Chinese and foreign parties, and maintains communication channels with the policymaking parties of various countries.

New Order of the International Trade System
On April 26, CCG held a roundtable in Beijing with leading Canadian think tank Center for International Governance Innovation (CIGI) to discuss pressing issues for the global trade system. Chaired by CCG President Wang Huiyao and CIGI President Rohinton Medhora, the discussion saw a fruitful exchange of views between experts from CCG, CIGI, and the Embassy of Canada in China. Both sides put forward new ideas to revitalize the world trade system and identified areas for cooperation between the two think tanks.

Two-Way Street: 2018 Update U.S.-China Direct Investment Trends
Amidst rising tension in the Sino-U.S. economic relationship, on April 19, the Center for China and Globalization (CCG) hosted a roundtable in Beijing, bringing together experts from China and the U.S. to discuss foreign direct investment (FDI) between the two countries. The event marked the China launch of a new report, Two-Way Street: 2018 Update on the US-China Direct Investment Trends, a research project led by the Rhodium Group and the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations (NCUSCR).

Experts discuss lessons from Hollywood for the Globalization of China’s Cultural Industries
Since the first half of the 20th Century, Hollywood movies have achieved unmatched commercial success overseas and captivated audiences around the world, becoming a signature vehicle for U.S. soft power. On April 10, 2018, CCG hosted a symposium to reflect on the development of Hollywood and draw lessons for the current wave of Chinese cultural industries “Going Out,” focusing on the globalization of China’s movie industry.
