CCG economic and trade seminar
On Sept. 12, CCG brought together a group of senior economic and trade experts and scholars to a seminar at its headquarters, led by CCG Honorary Chairman and former Minister of Commerce Mr. Chen Deming, to discuss the issues including the Sino-US trade frictions and the impact on global value chain, key issues and solution to the Sino-US economic relations, and the possibilities for China’s accession to CPTPP.

Author of The World is Flat Thomas Friedman returns to CCG to speak about China-US trade talks
On September 5, 2019, Thomas Friedman, New York Times columnist and author of The World is Flat, and Keith Bradsher, Shanghai bureau chief for the New York Times, visited the Center for China and Globalization (CCG) and had an in-depth conversation with CCG staff regarding the 13th China-US High-level Economic and Trade Consultations which will be held in Washington DC in October.

Australia and China: Mutual benefits through trade liberalisation and multilateral trade reform
Birmingham emphasized that RCEP is not only beneficial for Australia and China but also for the 10 members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). He emphasized that RCEP is globally significant because of its economic benefits, its symbolic weight and the opportunities for open trade it will provide.

Hudson Institute president visits CCG to discuss US-China relations
On July 29, 2019, Kenneth Weinstein, president and CEO of the Hudson Institute and member of the US Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations, visited the Center for China and Globalization (CCG) headquarters in Beijing. The exchange covered a variety of topics, such as the prospects for a Sino-US trade deal and the opportunities and challenges for future Sino-US relations.
