CCG President makes China’s case at the Munk Debates
On May 9th at 7am Beijing time, the world-renowned TV debate platform, Munk Debates, held its first debate of 2019 in front of an audience of 3,000 spectators in Roy Thomson Hall, Toronto, Canada. Dr. Wang Huiyao, Founder and President of the Center for China and Globalization (CCG), was invited to participate in this debate with three other leading international thinkers, where they debated the resolution: “Is China a threat to the liberal international order?”

CCG expert delegation visit US think tanks to boost bilateral understanding
At the beginning of May, the Center for China and Globalization expert delegation, whilst in the US conducting “track II diplomacy” activities, visited several think tanks and research institutions to promote greater bilateral understanding. These included the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), Hudson Institute, Heritage Foundation, Wilson Center Kissinger Institute, American Enterprise Institute (AEI), Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, Cato Institute and Pew Research Centre, among others. During these exchanges CCG representatives held dialogues with their US counterparts on topics such as Sino-US relations and trade tensions, global governance, multilateral trade mechanisms and future cooperation between Chinese and American think tanks and research organizations.

CCG concludes series of exchanges in the US, deepening channels for Track II diplomacy
From May 5-11, a CCG delegation led by President Wang Huiyao and Executive Secretary-General Miao Lu undertook a series of high-level exchanges in the US with representatives from government, leading think tanks, and the business community. Coming amidst a period of intensified trade talks and tensions between China and the US, these activities formed part of CCG’s ongoing efforts to facilitate bilateral dialogue and mutual understanding through people-to-people diplomacy. This series of exchanges built on foundations laid by the previous CCG delegation visit to the US in October last year.

CCG President Meets with Heritage Foundation Founder
CCG President Wang Huiyao had a discussion with Dr. Edwin J. Feulner, the founder of the Heritage Foundation, a prestigious think tank in the United States, about the future cooperation, as a way to contribute to a strengthened Sino-US relationship.

CCG’s ‘track-II’ diplomacy in America (I): Exchanging ideas on Sino- US relations with world-class think tanks
On the morning of Sep 29, Dr. Wang Huiyao, the President of CCG delivered a speech on ‘China and Globalization: Opportunities and Challenges for China-U.S. cooperation’ at Council on Foreign Relations. As the representative of CCG, he expressed the group’s opinions on the economic and trade relation between China and America, global governance and the two countries’ cooperation on infrastructure construction.
