Canada’s small business minister Mary Ng visits CCG to discuss China-Canada relations
Last week, Mary Ng, Canada’s minister for Small Business and Export Promotion, attended the World Economic Forum in Dalian, China. She is the first Canadian minister to visits to China since tensions have clouded relations between China and Canada in the past few months.

CCG conducts “China- Canada Economic and Trade Round Table”
On the 9th of February, the Center for China and Globalization (CCG) joined the Canadian think tank- Centre for International Governance Innovation organizing the “China- Canada Economic round table” at CCG’s Beijing headquarters. The scholars agreed at the seminar that the two countries should strength communication and deepen understanding of each other to explore more cooperation in innovation and cultural exchange.

New Order of the International Trade System
On April 26, CCG held a roundtable in Beijing with leading Canadian think tank Center for International Governance Innovation (CIGI) to discuss pressing issues for the global trade system. Chaired by CCG President Wang Huiyao and CIGI President Rohinton Medhora, the discussion saw a fruitful exchange of views between experts from CCG, CIGI, and the Embassy of Canada in China. Both sides put forward new ideas to revitalize the world trade system and identified areas for cooperation between the two think tanks.

CCG President makes China’s case at the Munk Debates
On May 9th at 7am Beijing time, the world-renowned TV debate platform, Munk Debates, held its first debate of 2019 in front of an audience of 3,000 spectators in Roy Thomson Hall, Toronto, Canada. Dr. Wang Huiyao, Founder and President of the Center for China and Globalization (CCG), was invited to participate in this debate with three other leading international thinkers, where they debated the resolution: “Is China a threat to the liberal international order?”
