As a pioneer “new type of think tank with Chinese characteristics,” CCG is dedicated to researching think tank theories and continuously innovating management practices, promoting the innovative development of Chinese think tanks, and promoting academic exchanges and management experience sharing between Chinese think tanks and academic experts and international top think tanks through multiple channels. Over the past ten years, CCG has been actively learning from cutting-edge ideas and management practices of international top think tanks, and has been exploring new ways to meet the needs of Chinese think tanks by sending visiting scholars, "going global" international exchange, organizing the annual China Global Think Tank Innovation Forum, and seminars for international top think tanks, publishing research works, and cooperating with international think tanks. CCG has developed into one of the leading non-governmental think tanks in China.

CCG Releases New Book on Globalization vs De-globalization
CCG’s bookshelf adds one more its publication on April 20, 2017. The new book, titled Globalization vs. Deglobalization: Challenges and Opportunities for Government and Enterprises, is a collection of insights of 20 CCG scholars’ on how to cope with the rising trend of de-globalization.

New Order of the International Trade System
On April 26, CCG held a roundtable in Beijing with leading Canadian think tank Center for International Governance Innovation (CIGI) to discuss pressing issues for the global trade system. Chaired by CCG President Wang Huiyao and CIGI President Rohinton Medhora, the discussion saw a fruitful exchange of views between experts from CCG, CIGI, and the Embassy of Canada in China. Both sides put forward new ideas to revitalize the world trade system and identified areas for cooperation between the two think tanks.

CCG expert delegation visit US think tanks to boost bilateral understanding
At the beginning of May, the Center for China and Globalization expert delegation, whilst in the US conducting “track II diplomacy” activities, visited several think tanks and research institutions to promote greater bilateral understanding. These included the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), Hudson Institute, Heritage Foundation, Wilson Center Kissinger Institute, American Enterprise Institute (AEI), Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, Cato Institute and Pew Research Centre, among others. During these exchanges CCG representatives held dialogues with their US counterparts on topics such as Sino-US relations and trade tensions, global governance, multilateral trade mechanisms and future cooperation between Chinese and American think tanks and research organizations.

CCG holds discussion with delegation from Belt and Road countries
A group of scholars from the Belt and Road Countries visited the Center for China and Globalization on Oct. 18 and held a discussion with Chinese fellows regarding the Belt and Road initiative and global governance from various perspectives based on the situation of their respective countries.

CCG attends 2018 Berlin Foreign Policy Forum to discuss global order and Europe’s future
On November 26-27, 2018, during Chinese Vice Premier Liu He’s visit to Germany to attend the 8th China-EU Forum Hamburg Summit, Germany’s körber foundation held the "2018 Berlin Foreign Policy Forum" focused on Europe's future in a new international order. It brought together dozens of distinguished politicians, scholars and experts from Germany, Slovakia, Russia, Estonia, Britain and France. CCG President Dr. Wang Huiyao was invited to speak at the plenary session about the challenges and governance of global economy in a new era.
