CCG’s bookshelf adds one more its publication on April 20, 2017. The new book, titled Globalization vs. Deglobalization: Challenges and Opportunities for Government and Enterprises, is a collection of insights of 20 CCG scholars’ on how to cope with the rising trend of de-globalization.

CCG Chairman and former Vice Minister of Commerce Long Yongyu gives its forward for the book, which is compiled by CCG founders Wang Huiyao and Miao Lu. Other contributors includes He Yafei, former Vice-Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Zheng Yongnian, professor of the National University of Singapore and Chairman of CCG Academic Council.

CCG President Wang says at the launching ceremony that the book is a timely collection of studies on globalization process and China’s globalization strategy, as the world has come to a crossroad due to the rise of de-globalization. To find a solution, CCG has held over 30 roundtables and seminars to invite prominent Chinese scholars and experts to discuss this issue and propose their ideas on how to maintain the momentum of globalization. Their analysis and perspectives are all included in the new book, which is China’s first book of such a kind focused on globalization and de-globalization.

This book has two parts and 17 chapters. The first part, titled “The Great Game: End of the Globalization Era?” examines the overall trends of globalization and predicts the result of its wrestle against de-globalization, which leads to the conclusion that inclusive globalization will be an inevitable outcome. The second part, “How China Leads A New Round of Globalization,” proposes measures that China should undertake to overcome deglobalization – further opening up, proactively participating in global governance, pushing forward the development of multilateral trade mechanism, and strengthen China-US cooperation.

Since the establishment in 2008, CCG has been dedicated to the study of China and globalization, and created three major annual events – “China and Globalization Forum,” “China Outbound Investment Forum” and “China Global Enterprises Forum” to discuss the issues including China and global governance, globalization of Chinese companies, and investing in China. By far, hundreds of political leaders, business executives and top scholars have participated in those conferences. Meanwhile, starting 2014, CCG has published the Blue Book report on globalization of Chinese companies for three consecutive years. Recently, CCG presented several policy advisory reports on how to understand and deal with de-globalization, which have gained government attention.
