On 29 August 2024, on the eve of the opening of the 9th Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), the Center for China and Globalization (CCG) and Development Reimagined jointly organised a seminar on ‘Reimagining the Current Global Governance System to Work for Africa and Prospects for China-Africa Cooperation’. Diplomats, heads of international organisations, think tank experts, university scholars and nearly 20 media professionals from China and African countries gathered to discuss how China-Africa cooperation can play a greater role in global governance.

Henry Huiyao Wang: I think maintaining dialogue and communication is extremely important. For example, at this conference, I didn't see any Russian. There are two Chinese participants, but not many. I believe it's essential to keep communication channels open. I mentioned to Jake Sullivan that we hosted students from Sidwell Friends and he said that it's a very prestigious school with many officials' children attending. He was quite interested in such exchanges, so it is crucial to continue these interactions. Of course, the process of exchange should aim to achieve the purpose of communication.

On July 17, a delegation of nearly 30 U.S. students from prestigious high schools and universities visit the Center for China and Globalization (CCG) as their first stop in China. They have a dialogue with Chinese experts and CCG's young researchers and interns on sustainable development and urban planning.
