Since its establishment, CCG has paid close attention to international relations and China's foreign affairs, tracking the development and changes of China's bilateral economic and trade relations with the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin America, Australia, the Middle East and other countries and regions, and has been devoted to research on China-US-Europe cooperation, the Belt and Road Initiative, WTO reform, CPTPP and other multilateral topics, as well as providing recommendations for policymaking.
The annual flagship forums held by CCG for successive years have contributed to discussion on China-U.S. relations and China-EU cooperation, promoted international exchange, and given full play to the role of think tanks in track II diplomacy. CCG regularly conducts research and exchanges in multiple countries, and published a series of Chinese and English research reports on China-U.S. economy and trade relations.
The think tank hosts a series of roundtable seminars all year round, and invites think tank experts and scholars, political leaders, business elites and diplomats from the United States, Canada, Britain, Australia, Japan, Germany, Egypt and other countries to discuss and exchange views on international relations and multilateral cooperation.

CCG new report calls to strengthen multi-level int’l cooperation
On April 5, 2020, the Center for China and Globalization (CCG) released the English version of the report “Strensgthen multi-level international cooperation to fight the pandemic”. The report summarized China’s experience in dealing with the outbreak and provided suggestions on global cooperation to fight the virus and its economic fallout. It drew on ongoing research and analysis of the unfolding outbreak and recent seminars CCG has hosted featuring Chinese and foreign experts.

The coronavirus crisis is a worldwide pandemic requiring collaboration across nations regardless of ideology, political system or religiosity. This is the time for global unity against a pandemic attack, no different than if all the nations of the world had to unite to fight an attack from outer space aliens. As science fiction as it sounds, the coronavirus global pandemic is something right out of science fiction and needs to be met head on with global cooperation, the sharing of information, science and experience to fight a common enemy. This is not the time to be fighting among ourselves.

In the movie The Big Short a fund manager takes a position against the rising American stock market, seeing the incubating subprime as a potential crisis that could bring down a house of cards. He effectively bets against the market, or rather he bets against America. Others are shocked and question his acumen. In the end, when the 2008 subprime crisis erupts into a global financial crisis, and America enters a historic recession, short of outright depression, the fund manager cashes in on his bet and makes a fortune as others lose their shirt.
