Harvey Dzodin: Aunt Jemima, George Floyd and American bigotry
White Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin murdered George Floyd for the entire world to witness in eight minutes and 46 seconds on May 25, but it now turns out that the disgraced officer may be responsible for the demise of others better known in America and elsewhere than the late Mr. Floyd. Among them are Aunt Jemima, Uncle Ben and Mrs. Butterworth.

Laurence Brahm: America’s unrest has been coming for a long time
Massive protests against racial injustice on a scale larger than even the anti-war movement of the late 1960s and early 1970s have spread across the United States. The agonizing death of George Floyd while in the custody of Minneapolis police has revealed to the world a long litany of police brutality exposing not only the deep-seated racism that proliferates across America, but the caste system maintained by it.

Wang Jisi: Uphold three bottom lines for China-US relations
Since the novel coronavirus raged, China-US relations have continued to decline. The successive China-related policies and bills introduced by the US government and the US Congress have seriously damaged bilateral relations. The US officials are also increasingly vocal in their attacks on China. Some commentators in both the US and China noted that bilateral relations are in "free fall." World public opinion is worried that once China-US relations get out of control, it will be more difficult for the global economy to recover in the post-COVID-19 era. Arms races and geopolitical conflicts will surely intensify, the world order will become more chaotic, and some unexpected disasters will be on the way. This is by no means alarmist.

Zamir Ahmed Awan: Protests in the US are taking a dangerous turn
Protests continued for a sixth day across the US over the death of unarmed black man George Floyd at the hands of a police officer in Minneapolis, Minnesota. At least 40 cities have imposed curfews, and the National Guard have been activated in 15 states and Washington, DC. Even the White House is no longer safe, and President Trump, along with his family, was moved to underground bunker. Armored vehicles and armed troops are everywhere. Protests are spreading rapidly and gaining momentum. Although one former officer, who was seen in a video with his knee on Floyd's neck, was charged with third-degree murder and manslaughter, but protesters and critics believe the charge is not harsh enough. Protesters want to see charges for all four police officers involved in the death of Floyd.
