Former US TPP Chief Negotiator Speaks at CCG about Asian Pacific Economy and Trade Prospect
Wendy Cutler, Vice President of the Asian Society Policy Institute (ASPI) and Former US TPP Chief Negotiator, visited the CCG headquarters on Jan. 22, 2018, and led a discussion about ASPI’s recent study report on Asian Pacific economic and trade development.

CCG expert delegation visit US think tanks to boost bilateral understanding
At the beginning of May, the Center for China and Globalization expert delegation, whilst in the US conducting “track II diplomacy” activities, visited several think tanks and research institutions to promote greater bilateral understanding. These included the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), Hudson Institute, Heritage Foundation, Wilson Center Kissinger Institute, American Enterprise Institute (AEI), Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, Cato Institute and Pew Research Centre, among others. During these exchanges CCG representatives held dialogues with their US counterparts on topics such as Sino-US relations and trade tensions, global governance, multilateral trade mechanisms and future cooperation between Chinese and American think tanks and research organizations.

On May 29, Peter Maurer, Chairman of the International Committee of the Red Cross, was invited to speak at CCG about Chinese Companies’ investment under the framework of the ‘Belt and Road’ Initiative, from the perspective of an international humanitarian agency.

CCG and BRIJC Roundtable: Future of Sino-Japanese relations and 40th anniversary of the bilateral peace treaty
On September 14, the Center for China & Globalization (CCG) and the Belt and Road Initiative Japan Research Center (BRIJC) held a joint seminar to mark the 40th anniversary of the signing of China-Japan Treaty of Peace and Friendship and to explore cooperation between the two countries.
