CCG advocates the development of talent mobility. Committed to study of the globalization of talent, CCG conducts major research projects, organizes events, publishes books and research reports in the fields of international talent, international migration, overseas Chinese, and the situation of talent studying abroad and returning to China.
Impact on Policymaking Based on solid empirical research results, CCG proposes a series of policy recommendations to improve China's talent development and immigration system, and plays an active role in promoting major policies, such as the establishment of the National Immigration Administration.
CCG has published a series of Blue Books such as the Blue Book of Global Talent: Annual Report on the Development of Chinese Students Studying Abroad, Blue Book of Global Talent: Annual Report on Chinese International Migration, Blue Book of Regional Talent: Report on China’s Regional International Talent Competitiveness, and the IOM World Migration Report, as well as a series of English books with Springer, including China’s Domestic and International Migration Development, filling the gap in the field of international talent research in China.
CCG has established brand forums such as the China Talent 50 Forum and the Global Education 50 People Forum, and has hosted the China Overseas Returnees Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum for many years.
CCG's initiative of establishing the Alliance of Global Talent Organizations is supported by relevant national ministries and the Beijing municipal government. CCG’s proposal was selected to participate in the first Paris Peace Forum and CCG held an event on the Alliance of Global Talent Organizations titled “Brain Drain: Making Better Use of the World’s Talent” at the second Paris Peace Forum.

7th Annual China Global Think Tank Innovation Forum
The 7th China Global Think Tank Innovation Forum, organized by the Center for China and Globalization (CCG) and supported by the Academy of Contemporary China and World Studies, brings leading figures from the global think tank community to discuss topics such as China-US competition and cooperation in the post-epidemic era, relaunching China-US humanities exchanges, development and cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region, as well as the "Chinese path to modernization" and China's opening up to the world. The forum also marks the release of the new CCG book Understanding Globalization, Global Gaps, and Power Shifts in the 21st Century - CCG Global Dialogues and a special dialogue with senior diplomat and president of the Council on Foreign Relations, Richard Haass. The Center for China and Globalization(CCG) initiated the "China Global Think Tank Innovation Forum" in 2016. Previous events have included participation of representatives from dozens of diplomatic envoys and international organisations in China, hundreds of think tankers, and hundreds of representatives from research institutions, enterprises, and media. The Forum is dedicated to gathering global consensus among think tanks, promoting the exchange of ideas, and actively exploring forward-looking and innovative solutions. China Global Think Tank Innovation Forum 2022 continue its focus on recent global events, explore the changing landscape of think tanks, discuss innovative models for the sustainable development of think tanks, and contribute solutions to global challenges.

CCG holds Sixth Annual China Global Think Tank Innovation Forum
Beijing, 7 December 2021. The Sixth Annual China Global Think Tank Innovation Forum 2021 brought together international delegates from academia, think tanks, and NGOs from more than 10 countries to exchange insights on key issues of international relations and innovative ways of developing global think tanks. This forum was hosted by the Center for China and Globalization (CCG) and co-organized by the State Grid Energy Research Institute. The Beijing Dongyu Globalization Think Tank Foundation, Our Hong Kong Foundation, The Asia Foundation, and Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung were partners for the event.

2018 Annual China Global Think Tank Innovation Forum
To support the healthy development of think tanks and discuss pressing challenges that think tanks face, on June 17, over 200 leading experts from the international think tank community gathered in Beijing for the Annual China Think Tank Innovation Forum. This year’s forum, the third to date, took the theme of “think tank innovation in a globalized era of acceleration and differentiation.” The event was co-hosted by CCG and the University of Pennsylvania’s Think Tank and Civil Society Program (TTCSP), in partnership with Shanghai Social Sciences Academy’s Center for Think Tank Studies and Nanjing University’s Center for Chinese Think Tank Research and Assessment.

The 2019 High-level Seminar on World-Leading Think Tanks took place on May 29th in Beijing, convening experts from leading Chinese and international think tanks. Hosted by Center for China and Globalization (CCG), University of Pennsylvania’s Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program (TTSCP) and the Penn Wharton China Center (PWCC), this seminar facilitated intellectual and experiential exchange and provided a platform to share observations on the innovative development of Chinese think tanks.
