Since its establishment, CCG has paid close attention to international relations and China's foreign affairs, tracking the development and changes of China's bilateral economic and trade relations with the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin America, Australia, the Middle East and other countries and regions, and has been devoted to research on China-US-Europe cooperation, the Belt and Road Initiative, WTO reform, CPTPP and other multilateral topics, as well as providing recommendations for policymaking.
The annual flagship forums held by CCG for successive years have contributed to discussion on China-U.S. relations and China-EU cooperation, promoted international exchange, and given full play to the role of think tanks in track II diplomacy. CCG regularly conducts research and exchanges in multiple countries, and published a series of Chinese and English research reports on China-U.S. economy and trade relations.
The think tank hosts a series of roundtable seminars all year round, and invites think tank experts and scholars, political leaders, business elites and diplomats from the United States, Canada, Britain, Australia, Japan, Germany, Egypt and other countries to discuss and exchange views on international relations and multilateral cooperation.

At this crucial moment with both sides in deadlock, on July 24, the Center for China & Globalization (CCG) released the report “Understanding the US-China trade War: Analysis and CCG Recommendations.” Based on CCG’s long-term ongoing research and investigations through visits to the US, the report presents an in-depth, systematic appraisal of Sino-US economic relations. It draws on solid empirical research and data to dispel misunderstandings surrounding the current dispute and puts forward recommendations to resolve current tensions and promote the healthy development of Sino-US relations.

Amidst US-China trade deadlock, CCG carries out Track II engagement with business community in New York to strengthen mutual understanding
On September 28, following a series of activities in Washington DC, the CCG delegation traveled to New York for further engagements. This included a seminar co-hosted with the National Committee on US-China Relations (NCUSCR), participating in a special dinner event held for CCG by the Committee of 100, and a visit to the United Nations headquarters. During this time, CCG engaged with US representatives from various industries and other fields for an in-depth discussion of US-China economic relations, helping to strengthen channels for bilateral dialogue.

Renowned Hudson Institute research fellow speaks at CCG about US policies towards China
A senior research fellow from the Hudson Institute, Dr. Richard Weitz, was invited to the Center for China and Globalization on Oct. 19 to deliver a presentation about his views of China-US relations. His presence took place only days after US Vice President Pence accused China of attempting to intervene the US mid-term elections during a speech at the Hudson Institute in Washington, D.C., and therefore attracted a great amount of attention.

Dr. Wang Huiyao, President of CCG, invited to Wilson Center
On September 25, CCG President Dr. Wang Huiyao visited the Wilson Center to engage with the US scholars on the bilateral relations. The meeting was chaired by Robert Daly, Director of the Wilson Center's Kissinger Institute on China and the US.
