CCG hosts roundtable on Global South green industrialisation
October 23 , 2025The Centre for China and Globalisation (CCG) on Oct. 23 hosted a roundtable on the “Global South Green Industrialisation Initiative: Necessity and Implementation Approaches,” discussing green globalisation and pathways for industrial upgrading in the Global South.
CCG President Henry Huiyao Wang delivered opening remarks.

Zhi Wang, Director of the Research Institute for Global Value Chains at the University of International Business and Economics, research professor at George Mason University’s Schar School, and CCG non-resident senior fellow, led the discussion.

Speakers included Jiang Xiaojuan, a professor at the University of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and former Deputy Secretary-General of the State Council, China’s government cabinet;

Ju Jiandong, Director of the Research Centre for International Finance and Economics at Tsinghua University’s PBC School of Finance;

Huo Jianguo, Vice Chairman of the China Society for WTO Studies and Former President of the Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation under China’s Ministry of Commerce;

Wang Ran, Associate Professor at the Research Institute for Global Value Chains at the University of International Business and Economics.

and Lin Chaonan, Researcher at the China EV100 Association.

The event was moderated by Zhang Wei, CCG Deputy Secretary-General.

Attendees also included Zhang Feng, Associate Researcher at the Chinese Academy of Fiscal Sciences.
