CCG Thought Corner on “Economy, Technology and Accessibility”

On the evening of April 22, 2024, the “Global Young Leaders Dialogue” (GYLD) program in collaboration with the Center for China and Globalization (CCG), successfully hosted the third installment of the CCG Thought Corner. The event, themed “Economics, Technology, and Accessibility,” attracted over 30 professionals from various countries to discuss China’s policies for achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and how to integrate economic, technological, and sustainable development objectives effectively.

 

During the event, Mike Liu, Vice President and Senior Fellow at the Center for China and Globalization, Zichen Wang, Director of International Communications and Research Fellow, Yan Yuqiao, Ph.D Candidate at the School of Journalism And Communication, Tsinghua University; Vice Chair of the Inclusive Communication and PWDs Working Group of IAMCR, Biman Liyanage, co-founder and director of AI Voice Health Technology, along with GYLD members Zoon Ahmed and Joshua Dominick, engaged in a lively discussion on current Chinese policy from the perspective of their respective fields.

Participants discussed how to leverage technological innovation to optimize economic development and ensure that the benefits of sustainable development reach all people. There was a consensus that technological innovation is a key driver of sustainable development, and there is a need to increase investments to integrate technological innovation with sustainable development goals deeply.

Since its inception, the CCG Thought Corner has been a platform that encourages open communication, full interaction, and the stimulation of innovative ideas, attracting individuals across professions from a wide range of countries. In the future, CCG Thought Corner will focus on more cutting-edge and interesting topics and invite more professionals from various fields to conduct cross-sector exchanges.
