The Report on the Development of Chinese Youth in New Professions under the New Employment Patterns Is Ready for Release

The youth are the future of the nation and the hope of the people, serving as the driving force behind the development of the CPC and the nation. Currently, with the continuous evolution of new employment forms under digital transformation, the social environment and social demands are changing rapidly. The growth and development of youth in new professions, who constitute of a vast and energetic group, not only invigorates the employment market, but also influences the direction and future of the innovation and development of China’s vocational system. It holds significant importance for the transformation of the occupational system and the cultivation of young talents in the new era.
Against this backdrop, the Center for China and Globalization (CCG), in collaboration with the Tencent Youth Development Committee, has jointly conducted research and co-authored the study entitled “The Report on the Development of Chinese Youth in New Professions under the New Employment Patterns“. On July 7th, the report will be officially released at the 2023 Global Youth Conference, hosted by Shandong Provincial People’s Government, Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, All-China Youth Federation and China Soong Ching Ling Foundation, and organized by the Foreign Affairs Office of Shandong Provincial People’s Government and the Center for China and Globalization.
Based on the current employment situation of youth in China, the report focuses on the emerging new employment forms, revealing the opportunities and challenges they bring to young people, and providing suggestions to promote their growth and development.
The report selects six new professions for investigation and research: Internet Marketer, Virtual Reality Engineer, Community Health Assistant, Carbon Emission Manager, Corporate Compliance Officer, and Agricultural Manager. It delves into analyzing the current status, existing issues, and development needs of young professionals in these new employment forms. It also puts forward policy suggestions to promote the training and development of youth in new professions, aiming to create a favorable environment where everyone has the opportunity to excel, thereby supporting China’s accelerated construction of a global talent highland and innovation center.
