Dr Swaran Singh is currently Visiting Professor, Department of Political Science, University of British Columbia (Vancouver Campus); Professor and former Centre Chair, School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University (New Delhi) and President of Association of Asia Scholars and Visiting Professor, Yunnan University of Economic and Finance (China). His main areas of research include international relations, foreign and security policies of major Asian powers, Peace & Conflict, and China-India relations. As a board member of the Society for Indian Ocean Studies, Communities Without Borders and others, he lectures regularly at various national and international defense and academic institutions both at home and abroad, and writes regularly for the Asia Times, China Daily, Global Times and other newspapers. In recent years, he has published books such as Revisiting Gandhi: Legacies for World Peace and National Integration (World Scientific 2021), Multilateralism in the Indo-Pacific: Conceptual and Operational Challenges (Routledge 2022), China and the Indo-Pacific: Maneuvers and Manifestations (Palgrave 2023).
