During the visit, they discussed China’s economic development and specifically China’s application to join the CPTPP. Both sides expressed their respective opinions towards China-US economic and trade relations and the future of US-funded enterprises in China.

The US-China Business Council (USCBC) was founded in 1973 as a non-profit organization of over 280 American companies that do business with China. Craig Allen began his tenure as the president of the US-China Business Council (USCBC) in 2018. Prior to joining USCBC, Craig had a long, distinguished career in US public service. He spent more than 30 years serving as a diplomat in Asia.

CCG has visited USCBC many times and maintained close contact with its President. Both sides regularly monitor China-US bilateral trade relationships and they are committed to promoting communication between two countries through people-to-people exchanges. During CCG’s Track Ⅱ Diplomacy visit to the US in July 2022, the delegation of CCG Think Tank experts visited Craig in Washington where they engaged in a broad discussion on China-US relations, economic and trade cooperation, and the possible future of US tariffs against China.
