It says the number of Chinese students in the US and Australia has significantly slowed down due to the pandemic and changes in immigration or border control policies, but their numbers in European and Asian countries have been growing vigorously. The report also says more than one million Chinese graduates returned to China last year, a sharp increase from the 777-thousand the previous year.

China remains one of the world’s largest source markets for overseas education and there’s a growing trend of studying abroad and returning home to work. Graduates returning home from overseas have made immense contributions to China’s development in areas such as science and technology, economy, education, and public management.”
