Founded in 1947, ETS is the world’s largest private non-profit educational testing and assessment organization. ETS China was established in 2007. Headquartered in Beijing, it is a division of ETS set up in China to advance cooperation and exchanges in language learning for Chinese studying abroad.

ETS China is committed to establishing close communications and cooperation with the local government, school institutions and public service organizations. It has been working closely with National Education Examinations Authority since the TOEFL and GRE test entered China in 1981. Currently, there are more than 140 test centers established in over 47 cities across the country. These testing centers hold TOEFL and GRE tests, helping Chinese test takers fulfill their dreams of studying abroad.

In the past 15 years, ETS China has committed to promote the development of international education in China and contributed to the language learning of young people. It strives to provide professional assessment and measurement services for organizations and specialists in the education industry, as well as provide standardized academic English language tests for Chinese test takers. These tests include TOEFL, GRE, TOEFL Yong Student Series, TOEFL Essentials, TOEIC, global higher education assessment series, etc.

In order to fit the China education industry, ETS China set up branch offices in Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. Catering to the Chinese marketing, localized programs were launch such as TOEFL English Learning Associate (TELA), TOEFL Circle, TOEFL® Teaching Academic English (TAE), etc.
