Raymond Zhang

Currently serving as the CEO of Zhong Shan Financial Investment Limited and the Director of Hammer Strategic Fund, Raymond’s experience in capital markets, investment banking and also private credit and equity investment spans over two decades.

Raymond started his career working for several financial institutions including National Australia Bank and JP Morgan in Australia, specializing in the financing of technology companies, fund management and auditing.

Shortly after moving to Hong Kong, Raymond started working at BOC International, UBS and Merrill Lynch. He then became a Director of Citigroup and was the Managing Director of Deutsche Bank Asia-Pacific Region Investment Banking Division thereafter. Later on, Raymond became a partner of VMS Investment Group, mainly responsible for private equity and fixed income investment.

Raymond has in-depth understanding of the finance industry and the commercial sectors. He has led, participated and invested into various landmark transactions and projects over the years.

Having obtained his Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Sydney, Raymond then pursued a Master Degree in Applied Finance from the Macquarie University. He is also an active participant in the CEO program at the Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business.

Raymond is a member of the 12th All-China Youth Federation and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference in Jiangsu Province. He also serves as an Executive Council Member of the Center for China & Globalization, as the Vice Chairman of the Professional Committee of the Belt & Road General Chamber of Commerce, as an Entrepreneurship Mentor at Hong Kong Cyberport and as the Vice President of the Hua Jing Society, as well as being an Honorary Advisor of the Junior Police Officers’ Association of the Hong Kong Police Force.
