Witman Hung, JP, an executive council member of CCG Hong Kong Council, is managing director of Qianhai International Liaison Service Ltd., a company setup by the Shenzhen Qianhai Management Authority in Hong Kong.
Hung was appointed by the Authority as the Principal Liaison officer for Hong Kong on 1 June, 2014. In this role, he was responsible for all liaison activities in HK for the Authority and served as the bridge between the Authority and the Hong Kong business and political community.
Witman worked in the ICT industry for more than 25 years and held executive positions at leading firms such as Jardine OneSolutions, Atos Origin, AT&T and KPMG. He is also an adjunct professor at Jinan University and Hainan University in China and an Honorary Professor of the Guangxi Normal University.
Witman is a Chartered Information Technology professional and a fellow of the British Computer Society, Hong Kong Institute of Directors, Hong Kong Computer Society, and Internet Professional Association. Witman was elected as a Deputy to the 13th National People’s Congress of PRC in December 2017. He served as an Associate (Part-time) Member of the Central Policy Unit of the HK SAR government from 2012-2015 and was appointed as a Justice of the Peace in 2015. He was elected as President of Internet Professional Association in 2013. He also co-founded the HK-ASEAN Economic Cooperation Foundation and serves as its Secretary-General. Witman was also been selected as one of the Ten Outstanding Young Persons of Hong Kong in 2008.
