He graduated from the English Department of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and the International MBA, of Peking University. He studied literature and English at Bayeru University in Nigeria. He studied in the International Trade Class of Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Master of Business Administration, Senior Economist, received a special allowance from the State Council.
He worked in 1976 at the Ministry of Foreign Trade and in 1977 at the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade. He served as Deputy Director and Director of the European Branch of the International Liaison Department of the Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Deputy Minister and Minister of International Liaison, Chief Representative of the United States Representative Office of the Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Deputy Secretary-General of the Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Press Spokesperson and Minister of Personnel of the Council. He served as Vice President of China International Chamber of Commerce and China International Trade Promotion Committee in 2003.
Mr. Yu Ping’s current and current social functions include: Chair of the SCO China Business Council, Chair of the East Asian Business Council, Vice-Chair of the Pacific Economic Council, Chair of the APEC Working Group on the Promotion of Trade, member of the Trade and Investment Working Group of the G20 Business Summit 2012, Co-Chair of the Trade Working Group of the G20 Business Summit 2013 and 2014, Vice-Chair of the China Branch of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property Rights, President of the China Branch of the International Association of Licensed Trade Workers, Vice-President of the Russian Friendship Association of China, Member of the Sino-Japanese Friendship Association, Member of the Chinese People’s Foreign Affairs Society, and International Exhibition Chief representative of China.
