CCG advocates the development of talent mobility. Committed to study of the globalization of talent, CCG conducts major research projects, organizes events, publishes books and research reports in the fields of international talent, international migration, overseas Chinese, and the situation of talent studying abroad and returning to China.
Impact on Policymaking Based on solid empirical research results, CCG proposes a series of policy recommendations to improve China's talent development and immigration system, and plays an active role in promoting major policies, such as the establishment of the National Immigration Administration.
CCG has published a series of Blue Books such as the Blue Book of Global Talent: Annual Report on the Development of Chinese Students Studying Abroad, Blue Book of Global Talent: Annual Report on Chinese International Migration, Blue Book of Regional Talent: Report on China’s Regional International Talent Competitiveness, and the IOM World Migration Report, as well as a series of English books with Springer, including China’s Domestic and International Migration Development, filling the gap in the field of international talent research in China.
CCG has established brand forums such as the China Talent 50 Forum and the Global Education 50 People Forum, and has hosted the China Overseas Returnees Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum for many years.
CCG's initiative of establishing the Alliance of Global Talent Organizations is supported by relevant national ministries and the Beijing municipal government. CCG’s proposal was selected to participate in the first Paris Peace Forum and CCG held an event on the Alliance of Global Talent Organizations titled “Brain Drain: Making Better Use of the World’s Talent” at the second Paris Peace Forum.
Think tank forum calls for innovation to meet global challenges
The 4th Annual China Global Think Tank Forum welcomed think tankers, scholars and experts in this field from around the world to share their views and solutions to current challenges faced by global think tanks. Hosted at the Penn Wharton China Center in Beijing, on May 28, 2019, representatives from Chinese think tanks, academia and research organizations gathered to hold exchanges and discussions with experts. Over the past decade, Chinese think tanks have experienced unprecedented growth and development as policy-makers pay more attention to the constructive role they play in policy research and policy making.January 19 , 2021
Fourth China Outbound Forum Concluded in Success
Co-organized by the Center for China and Globalization (CCG), China Association of International Economic Cooperation (CAFIEC) of the Ministry of Commerce and the Sanya government, the 4th China Outbound Forum was successfully held in Sanya, Hainan, on Nov 17-18, 2017. The forum had 13 sessions focused on economic globalization and Chinese enterprises globalization. Over 400 people from the business, politics and academic community in China and around the world attended the forum and over 80 guests shared their insights with the audience. The main theme for the forum this year is pushing forward Chinese enterprises globalization and developing a more open economy in China.January 19 , 2021

The Roundtable Forum and “Development and Prospect” Roundtable Forum are held on Dec. 17, 2016, as a joint effort of the Center for China and Globalization (CCG) and the Institute of Development Studies at the Southwest University of Finance and Economics (SUFE). Over 50 scholars, government officials and business executives are invited to the discussion about China’s talent development system reform, with a focus on the changes to talent introduction policies and talent cultivation strategy for China’s western region.January 19 , 2021
9th Forum on Overseas Chinese Returnees Innovation and Entrepreneurship
The 9th Forum on Chinese Overseas Returnees Innovation and Entrepreneurship was hosted by the Western Returned Scholars Association (WRSA), Chinese Overseas Educated Scholars Association and Council for China and Globalization (CCG). This annual forum proposes and advocates policies to promote innovation and entrepreneurship by overseas Chinese returnees. This year over 500 hundred high-ranking government officials, business executives, senior scholars, and overseas Chinese returnees attended the event.January 19 , 2021
