New Order of the International Trade System
On April 26, CCG held a roundtable in Beijing with leading Canadian think tank Center for International Governance Innovation (CIGI) to discuss pressing issues for the global trade system. Chaired by CCG President Wang Huiyao and CIGI President Rohinton Medhora, the discussion saw a fruitful exchange of views between experts from CCG, CIGI, and the Embassy of Canada in China. Both sides put forward new ideas to revitalize the world trade system and identified areas for cooperation between the two think tanks.

CCG Releases New Book on Globalization vs De-globalization
CCG’s bookshelf adds one more its publication on April 20, 2017. The new book, titled Globalization vs. Deglobalization: Challenges and Opportunities for Government and Enterprises, is a collection of insights of 20 CCG scholars’ on how to cope with the rising trend of de-globalization.

Thomas Friedman: Three forces affecting the future of humankind
In 2005, a book titled “The World is Flat” made its name around the world, triggering hot debate about globalization. Twelve years later, the author, three-time Pulitzer Prize winner, Thomas Friedman shared his new perspectives over the relations between technology innovation and globalization at the Center for China and Globalization, a leading independent think tank based in Beijing on June 2, 2017.

CCG’s ‘track-II’ diplomacy in America (I): Exchanging ideas on Sino- US relations with world-class think tanks
On the morning of Sep 29, Dr. Wang Huiyao, the President of CCG delivered a speech on ‘China and Globalization: Opportunities and Challenges for China-U.S. cooperation’ at Council on Foreign Relations. As the representative of CCG, he expressed the group’s opinions on the economic and trade relation between China and America, global governance and the two countries’ cooperation on infrastructure construction.

The CCG’s ‘track-II’ diplomacy’ in America (III) – Exploring the cooperation opportunities for Chinese and American think tanks with Asia Society
On the afternoon of Sep 29, CCG visited the headquarter of Asia Society in New York and exchanged opinions on issues such as the development of think tanks in both countries and the two parties’ future cooperation and regional governance. Josette Sheeran, the President and CEO of Asia Society, Debra Eisenman, the Executive Director of Asia Society Policy Institute, Jackson Edwin, the Director of Asia Development, Jeff Wang, the Program Director of China Learning Initiatives of Asia Society, Minyoung Shin, the Senior Researcher of Asia Development as well as Patrick Ingle, the Special Assistant and Advisor of the Head of Asia Society Research Institute joined in the meeting.
