Dr. Yang Xiaoping is Associate Fellow at National Institute of International Strategy, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Beijing. She used to be senior visiting fellow of South Asia Program, Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, Washington D.C (2015-2017), International Visiting fellow (2011) of IDSA, India, and post-doc. fellow at Fudan University, China. (2011-2013) .She stands as standing member of Chinese Association of South Asia Studies, and honorable member of South Asia Studies Association of the United States.
Her area of expertise includes India’s Foreign Policy and Security, Sino-India-U.S Strategic Interactions, Regional Integration and Architecture, and Maritime Security Cooperation.
She is the author of monograph Rising China, Emerging India and the Transformation of South Asia as well as the co-author of International Communication and Cultural Soft Power. Her work has been published largely in both Chinese and English scholarly journals.
Dr. Yang also conducts policy-oriented research, writes policy briefings, and contributes dozens of comments and articles to newspapers and journals.
She speaks fluent English, and is learning Hindi.
