Margaret Ren is a Managing Director, China country executive and chairman of Bank of America Merrill Lynch, she is also a member of the Executive Committee of Asia Pacific.
In this role, Margaret is responsible for leading and driving the strategic direction of BAML’s businesses in China. She will oversee our efforts across Global Banking and Markets to ensure we are maximizing this opportunity by delivering the full BAML franchise to both our Chinese clients and our global clients doing business in China.
Margaret is one of the most experienced China bankers, with more than 25 years of industry experience. She has extensive knowledge of investment bank and deep relationships with the Chinese financial and corporate sectors, and has worked on many landmark transactions across Greater China. She joined BAML from BNP Paribas, where she was chairman for Corporate Finance, Greater China. From 2007 to 2009, she was chairman of China Investment Banking at Merrill Lynch.
Margaret was named among the Top 50 most powerful business women in Asia by Forbes in 2013, and the 100 most influential women in finance by Financial News in 2009.
Margaret holds a Bachelor’s degree of Medicine from the Shanghai Medical University and a MBA from Sloan School of Management.
