Track Two Diplomacy
CCG pays close attention to international relations, promotes China and globalization, actively engages in international exchange, and gives full play to its role as a "Track II diplomacy" think tank. Our think tank organizes sub-forums, bilateral and multilateral events, roundtables, banquets and other activities at major international policy and opinion exchange platforms such as the Paris Peace Forum, the World Economic Forum and the Munich Security Conference to promote dialogue and build consensus among international political, business and academic circles. CCG actively engages in "Track II Diplomacy" with the policy, think tank and business communities of various countries, conducts annual research and exchanges in multiple countries, promotes interaction between Chinese and foreign parties, and maintains communication channels with the policymaking parties of various countries.

CCG hosts sub-session on global talent governance at the second Paris Peace Forum
From November 11 to 13, nearly a hundred government delegations and over 30 government leaders gathered at the second Paris Peace Forum, including the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, EU Commission President Ursula Gertrud von der Leyen, French President Emmanuel Macron and Chinese Vice President Wang Qishan. This forum saw more than 80 sessions that covered six major cross-sector issues, attracting over 6,000 attendees.

CCG participates in 2019 World Trade Symposium
On November 6th, the 2019 World Trade Symposium was hosted by Finastra in New York. Economic experts, tech entrepreneurs, policymakers, and thought leaders from all over the world discussed a range of topics from international relations and technological issues to trade and economic development, as well as international trends with a world in flux and the Belt and Road Initiatives’ impacts on global trade.

CCG President Wang Huiyao joins MSC Core Group Meetings in Cairo and Doha
At the end of October, the Munich Security Conference (MSC) held Core Group Meetings in Cairo (October 26-28) and Doha (October 28-29), the first meetings in this series. Each event brought together 60 to 80 senior political decision-makers, experts, and representatives of international organizations and civil society from Europe, China, and other parts of the world to discuss pressing issues and explore paths for de-escalation and regional cooperation.

CCG President Wang Huiyao participates in the Rhodes Forum
From 11th -12th October, the Rhodes Forum (2019) was held in Rhodes, Greece. Organized by the Dialogue of Civilizations Research Institute (DOC), the forum was themed “Global (dis)order: Towards dialogue-based worldviews”. It brought together 300 participants from over 50 countries to share ideas on sustainable economic development, the architecture of international governance under rapid shifts in the global economy, and the renovation of civility and ethical standards in the digital age.

CCG shares Chinese perspectives at the Athens Democracy Forum
From 9th to 11th October, the 2019 Athens Democracy Forum was held in Athens. Organized by the Democracy & Culture Foundation in association with The New York Times, the forum brought together over 400 international delegates from more than 30 countries to explore alternative models of governance and how to deal with them.

Tackling Plastic Pollution: What Role for the WTO?
From October 8-11, the World Trade Organization (WTO) held the 2019 WTO Public Forum at its Geneva headquarters in Switzerland. Under the theme “Trading Forward: Adapting to a Changing World”, the forum brought together representatives from government, the private sector, civil society, and academia to debate rapid changes in technology, demography, and climate, as well as to consider how the international trading system can adapt to these changes and remain relevant.
