Track Two Diplomacy
CCG pays close attention to international relations, promotes China and globalization, actively engages in international exchange, and gives full play to its role as a "Track II diplomacy" think tank. Our think tank organizes sub-forums, bilateral and multilateral events, roundtables, banquets and other activities at major international policy and opinion exchange platforms such as the Paris Peace Forum, the World Economic Forum and the Munich Security Conference to promote dialogue and build consensus among international political, business and academic circles. CCG actively engages in "Track II Diplomacy" with the policy, think tank and business communities of various countries, conducts annual research and exchanges in multiple countries, promotes interaction between Chinese and foreign parties, and maintains communication channels with the policymaking parties of various countries.

CCG promotes innovative new global governance projects at Paris Peace Forum
CCG’s two initiatives – the creation of the Global Talent Organization Alliance and D50 Enterprise Digital Economy Summit both seek to address current deficiencies in global governance, facilitating cooperation between multilateral institutions, governments, experts, business leaders, and NGOs to collaborate in solving issues related to global talent flows and e-commerce respectively.

CCG expert delegation visit US think tanks to boost bilateral understanding
At the beginning of May, the Center for China and Globalization expert delegation, whilst in the US conducting “track II diplomacy” activities, visited several think tanks and research institutions to promote greater bilateral understanding. These included the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), Hudson Institute, Heritage Foundation, Wilson Center Kissinger Institute, American Enterprise Institute (AEI), Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, Cato Institute and Pew Research Centre, among others. During these exchanges CCG representatives held dialogues with their US counterparts on topics such as Sino-US relations and trade tensions, global governance, multilateral trade mechanisms and future cooperation between Chinese and American think tanks and research organizations.

CCG wraps up participation in the 2019 Munich Security Conference
The 55th Munich Security Conference (MSC) kicked off on Feb. 15 in Munich, Germany. The three-day event brought together a record number of over 400 senior figures from all over the world, including nearly 40 heads of state and 100 ministerial-level officials, for high-level discussions on a wide range of issues key to international situation. CCG, as the only non-governmental partner of the 2019 MSC from China, has been extensively involved in various speaking and exchange activities and become the first 1st Chinese organization to hold an event at MSC.

Amidst trade tensions, CCG trip to the US of nearly 20 events over four days sets a landmark for Track II diplomacy work by an independent Chinese think tank
On September 29, CCG successfully completed its week-long series of Track II diplomacy activities in the US. This was the second such trip by CCG to the US since trade frictions escalated between the US and China.

CCG’s track II diplomacy — maintain mutual understanding and cooperation
On May 6, CCG President Wang Huiyao was invited to the annual conference of the Committee of 100 in California last week, and presented his perception of China’s “Belt and Road” Initiative and the current Sino-US relations. As the bilateral relations encounter setback, he urged American Chinese community and the think tanks in both countries to work more closely with each other to maintain mutual understanding and cooperation.
