On Sept. 12, CCG brought together a group of senior economic and trade experts and scholars to a seminar at its headquarters, led by CCG Honorary Chairman and former Minister of Commerce Mr. Chen Deming, to discuss the issues including the Sino-US trade frictions and the impact on global value chain, key issues and solution to the Sino-US economic relations, and the possibilities for China’s accession to CPTPP.
On September 6th, the Center for China and Globalization (CCG) was pleased to have Dr. Ziad Bahaa-Eldin, former deputy prime minister of Egypt, to deliver a speech on “Prospects of Chinese investment in the Arab world and Sino-Arab ties under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI)” at CCG headquarters in Beijing.
On September 5, 2019, Thomas Friedman, New York Times columnist and author of The World is Flat, and Keith Bradsher, Shanghai bureau chief for the New York Times, visited the Center for China and Globalization (CCG) and had an in-depth conversation with CCG staff regarding the 13th China-US High-level Economic and Trade Consultations which will be held in Washington DC in October.
On August 27, the Center for China and Globalization (CCG) held a seminar with the topic of population and birth policies, bringing together a range of domestic and foreign population experts, public policy experts, medical and clinical experts, economists and scholars to discuss issues on developments in demographic trends in China, current challenges of China’s aging population and fertility policy as well as strategies for its resolutions.
On 20th August, a German parliamentarian delegation, led by Member of Bundestag and Deputy Parliamentary Leader Nadine Schön, visited the Centre for China and Globalization (CCG) to conduct in-depth discussions with CCG experts on several topics, including Sino-German cooperation on digital economy and the opportunities and challenges in Sino-German relations.
On August 17, the Western Returned Scholars Association (Overseas-educated Scholars Association of China) and the Center for China and Globalization (CCG) held the 14th Western Returned Scholars Association Beijing Forum & 2019 Chinese Returned Scholars Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum in Beijing, China.
