Guohua (Annie) Wu is a senior partner at JT&N, and leads the firm’s Outbound Investment practice. A recognized authority on cross-border mergers and acquisitions and private equity transactions, Ms. Wu’s clients include some of the largest funds, international companies, SOEs and private companies.
Ms. Wu is an award-winning attorney. Among others, her honors include sequential ranking by Chambers & Partners as a “Recognized Practitioner” in Corporate and M&A (Global and Asia Pacific); dual recognition by Legal 500 both as a highly recommended “Leading Individual” in Corporate and M&A and, also, as a recommended key practitioner in Projects & Energy; recognition by Euromoney’s Asialaw Profiles as a “Market-Leading Lawyer” in Corporate and M&A; and recognition by Asian Legal Business as a winner of the “Client Choice Top 20” Award, ranking as one of China’s “Top Female Lawyers” and “Top 10 M&A Lawyers”.
Ms. Wu practiced law for nearly a decade with two prestigious international law firms in the United States: Sullivan & Cromwell (New York) and Kirkland & Ellis (Chicago). Ms. Wu was a partner in the Beijing office of Paul Hastings & Janovsky prior to joining the firm. She is licensed to practice law in China and the states of New York and Illinois, and is a member of the United States Supreme Court Bar.
Ms. Wu is a perennial observer of the “One Belt and One Road " development strategy under which she led several high-profile cross-border investment transactions.
Additionally, she is a Deputy Director for the One Belt and One Road Research Institute under the Beijing Lawyers Association. Ms. Wu is active in supporting public service affairs. She is a long-term supporter of the charitable foundation “Yes We Do” and Children's Hope Foundation of Henan province,. Serving as the “China Captain” for the Cornell International Lawyers Alumni Network (CILAN), Ms. Wu has been vigorously promoting cultural and legal exchanges between China and the United States.
