Howard Li

Howard H. Li is the Founder, Sole Owner, and Chairman of Waitex Group of Companies.

Waitex Group was founded in New York, USA in 1981. The group has prospered over a span of 35 years into a successful global enterprise. The group’s scope of businesses include global logistics and supply chain services, finance factoring services in China, high-end real estate property investment and development, import and export trading, retail chains, shopping mall development and management, and fashion design, production, wholesale, and operating retail stores. The group has more than 1,000 employees and 10 modern logistic centers with total building space of over 3,000,000 sq feet in the United States, which is processing more than USD $5 billion of goods annually for more than 500 well-known brands and clients. In China, Waitex‘s family affiliate company is the founding partner of Florentia Village Luxury Designer Outlets and Creativo designer mall. Now, also sole investor and developer of V1 Auto World. Waitex has been ranked one of the Top 200 Largest Privately Held Companies in the Greater New York Area by Crain’s Business Magazine.

Howard Li was selected by Forbes Asia as one of the 25 notable Chinese Americans in US Business. Mr. Li is a member of the Committee of 100 and serves as the Greater China Region Co-Chair. Mr. Li also serves as a member of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Tianjin Committee. He also serves on numerous boards and organizations including Vice Chair of the China General Chamber of Commerce in USA, Co Chair of the Coalition of Asian American Business Organizations, and National Director of the International Leadership Foundation.

In 2006, Howard Li was appointed by former U.S. President George W. Bush to serve on the President’s Advisory Commission on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. From 2002 to 2008, the US Department of Commerce (MDBA) appointed Howard Li to serve as National Minority Enterprises Development Week Conference (MEDWeek) National Chair, the first Asian American ever appointed to this position.

Formerly, Howard Li has served as an Advisory Council Member of the New York State Retirement Systems and was Director of the United Way of New York City.

In recognition of this entrepreneurial success and dedication to the community, Howard Li has received numerous awards and recognitions including the Ellis Island Metal of Honor, the Pioneer Award presented by US Department of Commerce (MBDA), and was awarded the President’s Service Award by U.S. President Barack Obama in December 2010.

Howard Li was born in Guangzhou, China in 1948 and studied at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. In 1976, he immigrated to the US from Hong Kong and studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. By 1981, Mr. Li established his own business, Waitex Group of Companies.
