HONG KONG – September 11, 2025– A high-profile summit focusing on the deep integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and Eastern healthcare science, the “AI + Traditional Eastern Healthcare Science: The Safety and Quality Assurance of Natural Health Products Summit,” was successfully held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on September 11. The summit was hosted by the “WE-Future Wellness Alliance,” an initiative founded by Professor Chun-Yuan CHIANG, a Standing Council Member of the Center for China and Globalization (CCG) and Vice Chairman of its Hong Kong Council. Mr. Paul CHAN Mo-po, Financial Secretary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, officiated the opening ceremony, underscoring the strategic importance of the event for advancing Hong Kong’s innovation in health technology and enhancing its international influence.

As the core driving force behind this landmark event, Professor Chun-Yuan CHIANG leveraged his profound expertise in life and health sciences and digital credit technology to successfully establish a high-level, cross-disciplinary dialogue platform connecting government, business, and academia. He stated that against the backdrop of rapid AI development, ancient Eastern wellness wisdom is on the verge of an unprecedented revolution. This summit aims to gather top global minds to forge an innovative path for the natural health industry—one empowered by life sciences and guided by digital credit and robust standards.

 

The summit featured a stellar lineup of speakers, bringing together distinguished authorities from various fields. Mr. Siddharth Chatterjee, the United Nations Resident Coordinator in China, shared a global perspective on health and mind-body wellness. Professor Yike Guo, Provost of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), and Dr. Walter Greenleaf, a former director at the Stanford Center on Longevity, analyzed the immense potential of technological innovation from the frontiers of academia. Additionally, Professor Huang Dejian, Acting Head of the Department of Food Science and Technology and Director of the N-1 Food Science Programme at the National University of Singapore, introduced Singapore’s advanced technologies and practices in the selection, extraction, production, and storage of natural health foods. Furthermore, insights from industry leaders such as Mr. Lawrence Lam, CEO of Prudential Assurance, enriched the discussion on building a high-quality ecosystem for longevity services. The summit’s special round-table session, featuring Professor CHIANG, Professor Guo, Dr. Greenleaf, Mr. Lam, and Professor Chen Lin, Vice-President of the University of Hong Kong, sparked a brilliant dialogue on the theme, “How AI Can Serve High-Quality Human Longevity, Insurance, and the Development of High-Quality Natural Health Products.”

Mr. Siddharth Chatterjee, the UN Resident Coordinator in China, delivered a keynote speech titled “Unlocking the Body’s Self-Healing Through Proper Breathing: A Personal Journey from a Senior International Organization Official,” sharing his insights on achieving the unity of body, mind, and spirit through breathwork.

 

The atmosphere at the forum was vibrant, with participants not only able to engage in face-to-face discussions with top international scholars and industry pioneers but also to grasp the latest technological trends and market dynamics, responding with great enthusiasm. They engaged in deep and fruitful discussions on key issues such as how cutting-edge technologies like AI and digital credit can empower the R&D, quality control, and safety standard-setting for natural health products, and even reshape the entire industry value chain. There was a consensus that the integration of AI and the development of a digital credit service system can significantly enhance the safety and efficacy of natural health products, establishing a more transparent and trustworthy quality assurance system to better meet the global consumer demand for high-quality wellness.
