Matteo Giovannini is a finance professional with years of extensive experience in private and state-owned enterprises who has been working in China since 2015. He holds an MBA degree from the National School of Development at Peking University, a master’s degree in Multimedia Management from IULM University of Milan, and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Catholic University of Milan (UCSC). In 2013 he spent one year as a Chinese Scholar at the Liaoning Normal University of Dalian. He possesses in-depth knowledge of the Asian markets and the ability to collaborate excellently in global teams. Mr. Giovannini is a strong linguist. He is a native speaker of Italian, fluent in both English and Spanish and conversant in Mandarin Chinese. From 2018 to 2019, he worked for the Italian Ministry of Economic Development’s China Task Force as the Head of the Financial Markets Team. In 2022 he became a Permanent Resident of China.
Currently, he works as a Senior Finance Manager at the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC). Prior to that, he spent several years in Italy as a Financial Controller working at one of Europe’s largest communication groups and covering business operations in EMEA and LATAM regions. He is also a member of the Global Young Leaders Dialogue Program (GYLD) of the Center for China & Globalization (CCG), a member of the Harvard Business Review Advisory Council, an MBA Alumni Ambassador of Peking University’s National School of Development, an Advisory Committee Member of the Beijing Global Talent Exchange Association (BGTEA), an International Committee Member of the Alumni UCSC Far East and a member of the Beijing branch of the Young China Watchers.
