Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan speaks at CCG

On June 3, 2024, during his visit to China, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan visited the Center for China and Globalization (CCG) where he delivered a speech. He also engaged in an in-depth conversation with CCG’s Founder and President, Dr. Wang Huiyao, and answered questions from the audience. Nearly a hundred attendees from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, various embassies in China, academia, business, and media were present at the meeting.
At the beginning of the meeting, CCG Secretary-General Mabel Lu Miao delivered an opening speech, welcoming all the guests. Following this, Minister Hakan Fidan witnessed the signing and exchange of a letter of intent on content cooperation between the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, represented by İsmail Hakkı Musa, the Turkish Ambassador to China, and CCG, represented by Dr. Wang Huiyao.
In his keynote speech, Minister Hakan Fidan elaborated on Turkey’s foreign policy and its role in global affairs amidst the current international landscape, emphasizing the importance of strengthening international cooperation between China and Turkey.
Minister Hakan Fidan and Dr. Wang Huiyao then engaged in an enlightening exchange. They discussed key issues such as China-Turkey relations, the current international environment, and the state of globalization, sharing their unique insights and perspectives. Fidan answered questions from the audience.

Hakan Fidan was appointed as Minister of Foreign Affairs in the new cabinet formed after the second round of the presidential elections held on May 28, 2023. He was born in Hamamönü, Ankara in 1968. He held critical positions in the state administration in foreign policy and security domains. He served as the President of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency, Deputy Undersecretary responsible for foreign policy and security issues at the Prime Ministry, Board Member of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Special Representative of the Prime Minister, Deputy Undersecretary of the National Intelligence Organization, Undersecretary/Director of the National Intelligence Organization, and Special Representative of the President. Fidan was appointed as the Undersecretary/Director of the National Intelligence Organization on May 27, 2010, and served in that position for 13 years.
