CGTN | New round of China-US tariffs as talks continue

China is fighting back with its own fresh tariffs on the 16 billion US dollars worth of additional imports from the U.S., in response to the new round of 16 billion dollars worth of tariffs imposed by the US on China.

Meanwhile, mid-level officials from China are wrapping up trade negotiations with their US counterparts in Washington. How might the talks turn out amid this new round of tariffs? With the US Trade Representative’s Office holding hearings on yet another round of 200 bln dollars tariffs to be imposed on Chinese goods, how much might the ‘against-voices’ affect Trump’s final decision?

The Point Studio invited Steve Lamar,Executive Vice President of the American Apparel & Footwear Association, Wang Huiyao, Founder of the Center for China and Globalization(CCG), Ricardo Meléndez-Ortiz, CEO of the International Center for Trade and Sustainable Development, to share their views.
