Vice President, Sanofi China
Helen ZHU is Vice President and Head of Public Affairs & Market Access of Sanofi China since May 25th, 2020. She is responsible for market access of all Sanofi portfolio in China, including general medicine, specialty care and vaccine. In her role, she has led the team to build the best-in-class access capability & strategy by integrating various functions including product access strategy and pricing, commercial insurance, innovative payment, as well as hospital key account and distribution channel management. By strengthening the strategic partnership with various levels of government agencies, social organizations, and industry associations, Helen Zhu and her team have further shaped the external environment to support Sanofi’s business growth ambition and ensure sustainable access for patients in China.
After joining Sanofi on July 1st, 2019, Helen Zhu had worked in Sanofi’s global public affairs team in Paris to jointly formulate the Blueprint of China 2030 Growth Strategy and develop public affairs and market access strategy for innovative specialty care products in China.
Prior to joining Sanofi, Helen Zhu served as Vice President in Philips Greater China, responsible for government affairs, policy research and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. Earlier in her career, Helen Zhu worked in Pfizer China for 20 years and held a series of leadership roles in sales, retail business, distribution channel management, key account management, government affairs and market access. She had also worked in Pfizer’s global public affairs team in New York to support China business.
Helen Zhu holds a bachelor’s degree in medicine from the 2nd Medical School of Shanghai Jiaotong University. In December of 2017, she was elected to Representative of the 15th Shanghai Municipal People’s Congress and served on that role ever since.
