Song Ligang is a lifelong professor, senior researcher and doctoral supervisor at Crawford School of Economics and Government, National University of Australia. Visiting Professor, School of Economics, Renmin University of China. Its research direction is international economics, development economics and Chinese economy. Among the major academic works are the Changes in Global Comparative Advantage (Addison-Wesley,1996), The Transformation of Ownership in China: Processes, Results and Prospects (World Bank Press ,2005, co-authored in English), a series of leading-edge books on China’s economy published jointly with Brookings and China Social Science Literature Publishing House since 2002 by the Australian National University Press. The current research topics are: China’s industrialization process and resource demand, foreign direct investment and its impact on China’s environmental changes, the private economy and entrepreneurship in the transition economy.
