U.S. President Donald Trump wants universities and schools in the United States to open as usual this fall, but has no direct power to do so. Instead, he’s threatening to revoke the visas of over 1 million international students if the universities they attend offer only online classes during the ongoing pandemic. The new move is putting U.S. credibility on the line while potentially cutting off a huge source of revenue for U.S. institutions of higher education. Critics believe it’s all about the president’s re-election campaign.

Not Surprisingly, Trump had suspended funding and  moved to officially end US membership of WHO. Is this a convenient excuse of recent pattern of withdrawing from international multilateral institution?
