CCG President Wang Huiyao Speaks at “Investment Immigration Summits 2014”HK
June 06 , 2019The “Investment Immigration Summit,” which is held annually, is regarded as the most important immigration conference in Asia and the Middle East. This gathering attracts top immigration consultants, private bankers and wealth managers concerned about migration, international immigration law firms, high-ranking government officials, and experts on this subject from around the world.
This year’s summit was held on November 11-12th at the Peninsula Hotel, Hong Kong. Dr. Wang Huiyao, founder and President of Center for China & Globalization (CCG), was invited to give a keynote address at the summit.
The 2014 summit focused on several important issues in the field of immigration related to investment. These include the rapidly evolving world of investor immigration and how it will affect investors as a group; understanding Chinese investment management patterns; and comprehending the ever-shifting drivers of migration and the implications such changes pose for global investment.
Dr.Wang has done extensive research on China’s talent issues, publishing more than 40 books and 100 papers and articles on the subject, including his two recent books that are now available in English, Globalizing China: Strategy, Influence and Success of Chinese Returnee Entrepreneurs and Entrepreneurial and Business Elites of China: The Chinese Returnees Who Have Shaped Modern China.
In his keynote address, Wang analysed four important issues in the field of immigration: current trends in Chinese migration, the characteristics of Chinese investment migration, challenges faced by Chinese migrants, and the latest developments in Chinese migration law and policy.
Dr. Wang especially focused on China’s New Exit-Entry Law, which was enacted in July 2012. This measure revised Chinese exit and entry regulations by establishing a “Talent Visa” as a new kind of ordinary visa. This measure went into effect in 2013. In August 2004, China implemented a “Green Card” system. According to officials at the Bureau of Exit and Entry Administration, China will lower the requirement of obtaining Chinese Green Card in the near future, allowing more foreign talent to reside permanently in the country.
The Center for China & Globalization (CCG) is China’s leading independent think tank. CCG has an especially deep and influential footprint as a think tank in the fields of international migration, the global movement of talent, and the entrepreneurship of Chinese returning to the mainland after studying and working abroad. CCG publishes over 10 books a year in China.
