【CNBC】 Wang Huiyao: China and Africa have a lot of similarities

China has strong ties with large African countries such as Kenya, but it’s also courting smaller economies such as Rwanda as well in the wake of trade tensions with the U.S., says Wang Huiyao of Center for China and Globalization(CCG).

  • China ranks No 4 in global governance

    Beijing scores high in economic contributions to global GDP, while New Delhi has performed well in “shouldering global responsibilities” thanks to its large number of personnel in UN peacemaking missions, said the report. Issued on Thursday by the Political Science Institute of East China University of Political Science and Law, the Center for China and Globalization (CCG) and China International Publishing Group, the report is the fourth of its kind.

  • China’s got the travel bug – but it lacks visitors

    Visitors from China may have become the biggest contributors to the global tourism market, but the Asian giant with a 5,000-year history apparently is not that attractive to foreign travellers. The number of inbound tourists grew at an average annual rate of just 1 per cent between 2005 and 2015 – and eight out of 10 of those were from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, according to a report by the Centre for China and Globalisation (CCG), a Beijing think tank.
